I don’t just want the best for my kids—I want the best for all of our kids.

I started my career as a teacher at a high school in New Orleans. My class had 50 students on the roster, but on any given day only 25 students would attend my class. That was the norm– and no one was fighting to change it. I decided then to dedicate my career to making change for students and families. Since then I have worked to raise expectations for all students and to expand the number of excellent public schools in every community.
